Sauk Centre already defeated BOLD this season, a 63-54 decision on Dec. 4. But with only a two-game lead in the West Central Conference standings, the Mainstreeters must hold off the second-place Warriors to breathe even easier as they look to secure the league title down the stretch of the regular season.
Sauk Centre is used to cruising through the conference schedule — their last West Central loss was Jan. 10, 2012 against Melrose — and this season hasn't been any different.
Macy Weller has led the way, averaging a team-high 16.1 points per game for the No. 1-2A Mainstreeters (11-2, 7-0).
BOLD (8-4, 6-2) could use a big performance from Makenna Steffel, who scored a season-high 27 points against Melrose on Dec. 6, to win Friday and close the gap on Sauk Centre.
