Grand Meadow vs.

Lyle-Pacelli

7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 8

Grand Meadow could be looking for revenge Tuesday when it visits Lyle-Pacelli. The Superlarks saw their season end with a 60-37 loss in the Class 1A, Section 1 semifinals to the Athletics a year ago.

Grand Meadow has finished second in the Southeast Conference West Division standings for six straight seasons, with Lyle-Pacelli being the team the Superlarks have had to look up at each time. A victory for Grand Meadow in this regular-season matchup could indicate a changing of the guard atop the conference leaderboard.

The No. 4-1A Superlarks (12-0, 3-0) are winning by 20.7 points per game thanks to offensive production from Riley Queensland, Jordyn Glynn and Skylar Cotton, who combine to average 45.9 ppg.

It’s improbable that defending Class 1A state champion Lyle-Pacelli can replicate last season's 25-1 record, but the Athletics (10-3, 3-0) can continue dominating their conference, where they've won 58 straight — a streak that started on Jan. 24, 2012 with a win over Grand Meadow.

Olivia Christianson and her 24.4 ppg will be looking to help Lyle-Pacelli make it 59 consecutive division victories.
