With a number of upsets happening in Class 4A's section playoffs, just two state tournament teams — Hopkins and Eastview — are represented on the all-state team.

Royals guard Paige Bueckers, the Star Tribune's Metro Player of the Year, is the only sophomore on the squad and comes into the state tournament averaging 22.7 points per game.

The Lightning are represented by senior forward Megan Walstad. The Wisconsin-Milwaukee commit helped lead Eastview to an undefeated record heading into state. Walstad averages 16 points, nine rebounds, three blocks, 2.5 assists and 1.5 points per game.

Hopkins leads the way with three players — senior forward Angie Hammond, senior guard Raena Suggs and junior guard Dlayla Chakolis named honorable mention.

Cretin-Derham Hall was another school with multiple honorable mention honorees. Raiders junior guard Frannie Hottinger led her team with 19.3 points per game this season. Senior guard Autam Mendez, meanwhile, is a four-year starter for Cretin-Derham Hall and helped guide the Raiders to their first state tournament since 2003 this year.
