Sauk Centre and Eden Valley-Watkins have combined for an impressive record of 35-2 this season.
The Eagles (17-2, 11-0) are riding a nine-game winning streak — and may be able to extend it to 11 with two victories this week, including on Saturday they play No. 1-2A Sauk Centre in the Winter Lake Classic.
Emma Schultz has been a catalyst for Eden Valley-Watkins, averaging 14.5 points per game in 15 contests. The junior is followed closely by Olivia Kuechle (13.9 ppg in 14 games) and Halle Jansen (10.9 ppg in 15).
A year removed from losing the Class 2A state championship game to Roseau, Sauk Centre has its sights on winning the state championship game. The Mainstreeters (18-0, 9-0) are perfect right now, making an undefeated regular season a real possibility.
To continue its success, Sauk Centre will need to rely on Tori Peschel, who’s averaging 15.0 ppg.
