Orono vs. New Prague
7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 10

New Prague can get back into the Wright County Conference race with a win over conference co-leader Orono. It would set up a fantastic finish, as the Trojans face conference co-leader Hutchinson on Feb. 21 in their second-to-last regular season game.

New Prague (13-8, 4-2) lost 61-46 to Hutchinson on Jan. 31 but has won five of its last six games. The Trojans got 17 points from McKenzie Holgate in a 52-38 win over Holy Family Catholic on Feb. 3. New Prague has played without Maizie Deihl (15.3 ppg) since Jan. 12 when she suffered a broken wrist in a 60-46 loss to Orono. Taylor Hustad has averaged 15.6 ppg and Emily Russo is up to 10.9 for the Trojans.

The No. 3-3A Spartans (16-4, 5-1) also recently fell victim to a resurgent Hutchinson squad. The Tigers knocked off Orono 58-51 on Feb. 3 to liven up the conference title race.

The loss snapped an eight-game winning streak for the Spartans, who won the first meeting with Hutchinson 86-76 on Jan. 6. Tori Andrew is averaging 20.6 ppg for Orono while Madeline Loder is scoring 18 per game. Natalie Smaron is scoring 10.8 per game and pulling down 12.8 rebounds a game.
