Mahtomedi’s Emma Grothaus became the latest Minnesota player to commit to Lehigh University when she made her announcement in November, and the season leads the Zephyrs (4-0) into a bout with upstart Woodbury.

Grothaus (22.8 points per game) has four 20-plus point games already this season, including a 33-point, 21-rebound effort in an 81-71 win over No. 2-1A Maranatha Christian Academy.

Annika Sougstad and Marisa Gustafson give Grothaus a supporting cast, with each averaging 13.8 ppg.

Cecile Kieger scored 20 points to help the Royals (2-1, 0-1) stage a 72-69 upset of No. 8-4A Apple Valley on Dec. 9. She is averaging 22.7 ppg through three games. Teammate Rachel Hakes (16 ppg) is also a dangerous offensive threat, pouring in 21 points in the victory over the Eagles.
