East Ridge vs. Apple Valley
7 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 22

Woodbury snuffed out Apple Valley’s surge up the rankings with a 72-69 victory. The Eagles have rebounded with back-to-back wins and look to add another when facing No. 7-4A East Ridge.

The Eagles (4-1, 1-0) started the season with wins over previously ranked Minnetonka (67-52) and St. Michael-Albertville (68-47), and the Woodbury loss appears to only have been a speed bump, as Apple Valley earned wins over Park of Cottage Grove (76-59) and Eagan (60-36) last week.

Point guard play could be featured in this one, with the Eagles' Lyndsey Robson (16.8 ppg), a Green Bay recruit, squaring off against the Raptors' Noelle Tomes, who is averaging 17.3 points per game.

An interesting battle will also take place in the paint, where East Ridge’s Mariah Sexe (18.5 ppg) goes up against an Apple Valley frontcourt featuring Brynne Rolland (13 ppg) and Southwest Minnesota State recruit Sara Teske, a small forward who has returned from a knee injury to average 13 ppg.
