Hopkins at Bloomington Kennedy
7 p.m., Tuesday Dec. 15

Hopkins lost the top spot in the Class 4A rankings after stumbling on a road trip to St. Michael-Albertville, as the No. 2-4A Royals not only lost their first game of the year but also fell for the first time since a losing to Eastview on Dec. 6, 2014.

Hampton commit Ashley Bates is averaging 16.3 ppg to lead Hopkins (4-1) in scoring, with Michigan State commit Nia Hollie posting 14.8 ppg.

Bloomington Kennedy is looking to right the ship after starting 0-5, but a rather brutal schedule may be to blame as the Eagles, a Class 3A team, have faced only Class 4A schools so far this season.

In fact, Kennedy gave No. 1-4A Eastview its closest game of the season, with the Eagles falling 59-51 in the season opener on Nov. 27.

Lashayla Wright-Ponder, a South Dakota commit, is leads Kennedy with 22.2 ppg this season.
