Apple Valley at Shakopee
7 p.m., Friday, Jan. 16

Apple Valley does not lack scorers. The Eagles (7-5) have some serious offensive firepower in their lineup as sophomore forward Sara Teske (16.4 ppg) and sophomore guard Lyndsey Robson (15.9 ppg) consistently light up the scoreboard.

Freshman center Marie Olson (10.0 ppg) and junior center Taylor Wangerin (9.0 ppg) can also score. Wangerin finished with 20 points in a 68-34 win over Andover on Dec. 29.

No. 9-4A Shakopee (8-3) won seven straight before falling to Lakeville North on Jan. 9. Five players have each scored 16 or more points in a game at least once for the Sabers. Junior guard Taylor Koenen leads the team in scoring (20.4 ppg).

The Eagles and Sabers are new conference rivals. Shakopee moved into the South Suburban Conference this season after its former league, the Missota Conference, disbanded at the end of last season.
