Rochester John Marshall at Edina
2 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 17

Rochester John Marshall is undefeated and still searching for a second marquee win of the season. The No. 5-4A Rockets (11-0) haven't faced much of a challenge since defeating No. 6-4A Elk River 60-52 on Dec. 6. Could Edina be the team John Marshall uses to build its resume? Possibly.

The Hornets faced a flood of top Class 4A competition in their last five games and finished with a 2-3 record. No. 10-4A Edina (8-4) defeated No. 7 Maple Grove (49-48) and No. 4 St. Michael-Albertville (71-70) before losing to No. 9 Shakopee (44-43), Chanhassen (44-38) and No. 1 Hopkins (67-30).

The Hornets have enjoyed consistency from sophomore forward Annika Jank (18.0 ppg) and senior guard Jill Morton (15.5 ppg). Freshman guard Olivia Coughlin could give the Hornets another scoring option, as she scored 12 points against St. Michael-Albertville on Dec. 30.

Jamie Ruden is one of the Rockets' top scoring threats. The junior forward finished with 28 points in a 62-41 victory over Mankato West on Jan. 9.
