Pequot Lakes at No. 9-2A Staples-Motley
7:15 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 6

Two of the top Mid-State Conference programs renew acquaintances Thursday night — the second time in two weeks they’ve collided. Back on Jan. 25 the game went to overtime before Pequot Lakes emerged with a 68-66 victory on Emily Buell’s go-ahead bucket. That result was huge, as it was the first time in two years Staples-Motley had lost a conference game. Vanessa Lane (18.9 ppg) had a double-double (19 points, 13 rebounds) for the Patriots, while Kayla Miller (15.5 ppg) added 18 points. Staples-Motley was paced by Grace Wolhowe (12.6 ppg) with 19 points and Kelsy Zetah (7.8 ppg) with 14 points. The Cardinals have been playing without starting point guard Mikayla Wing, who injured her knee in early December and will miss the rest of the season.
