See who fans voted as the top performer for Feb. 5-10

Players are considered for the Top Performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Girls' Basketball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If any coaches or members of their coaching staff would like to be set up to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Fans' choice for Top Performer

Kristi Fett, Lyle/Pacelli. Fett set a new program single-game scoring record for the Athletics, ranked No. 1 in Class 1A by Minnesota Basketball News, with 38 points in a 72-37 win on Feb. 7 against Southland. Fett also scored 31 points in an 86-19 win over LeRoy-Ostrander on Feb. 5, giving Lyle/Pacelli its 90th consecutive conference victory. The Athletics (23-1, 12-0) wrapped up the week with a 50-44 win over No. 4-1A Goodhue, a Section 1 rival.

Top Performer candidates

Alyssa Rostad, Houston. Rostad hit four three-pointers for Houston (19-3, 10-2) on Feb. 9 in a 79-39 victory over LeRoy-Ostrander on her way to a 28-point game. The Hurricanes are amidst one of the best seasons in program history and have assured themselves of their first winning season.

Heaven Hamling, Grand Rapids. Cloquet shut down Hamling in the first half of their showdown on Feb. 9, but the Lumberjacks could not do the same in the second half as Hamling scored 24 points en route to a game-high 30 in a 76-68 victory. The No. 13-3A Thunderhawks (16-7) rallied from a five-point halftime deficit.

Sydney Schultz, Owatonna. Schultz put together a double-double of 39 points and 11 rebounds in a 78-61 victory over Rochester Century on Feb. 5 . The Huskies have gone 12-2 since Dec. 28, including a 54-41 win over No. 5-3A Northfield.

Natalie Steichen, Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton. Steichen scored 29 points in a 68-53 win over Frazee on Feb. 5. The No. 2-2A Rebels (19-2, 6-2) are seeking their first trip to the state tournament since 2003.

Joey Batt, New Ulm. Batt scored 28 points on 12 of 26 shooting against Mankato East in a 72-45 victory on Feb. 5, and she followed that performance with a 29-point game (on 10-for-14 shooting) in a 70-48 win against Fairmont on Feb. 8. 

McKenna Hofschild, Prior Lake. Hofschild entered the week leading the state in points per game (28.1) after posting a 38-point effort in an 82-80 loss to Burnsville on Feb. 9.

Emma Grothaus, Mahtomedi. Grothaus had 28 points  in a 50-46 loss to Hill-Murray on Feb. 9. She also scored 20 against Henry Sibley in a 47-33 win and 17 against South St. Paul in a 59-26 victory earlier in the week.

Krystal Carlson, Hastings. Carlson shot 12 of 21 from the field to finish with 29 points in a 73-61 victory over Tartan on Feb. 9. She also finished with 16 points against North St. Paul in a 75-32 triumph.

Lily Orazem, Isle. Orazem scored 30 points in an 86-52 loss to Royalton on Feb. 9. It was the sixth time this season she scored at least 30 points and helped her bounce back from a 15-point game in a 60-42 loss to East Central a day earlier.
