See who fans voted as the top performer for Jan. 8-13

Players are considered for the Top Performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Girls' Basketball Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If any coaches or members of their coaching staff would like to be set up to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Fans' choice for Top Performer

Courtney Freeberg, Waconia: Freeberg's 25 points helped the Wildcats, ranked No. 9 in Class 3A by Minnesota Basketball News, pull out a 68-66 double overtime win over rival No. 6-2A Holy Family Catholic on. Jan. 11.

Top Performer candidates

Mary Burke, Mountain Iron-Buhl: Burke had a ridiculous shooting night in a 37-point outburst in a 102-72 blowout of International Falls on Jan. 8. She made 12 of 13 two-point attempts and went 10-for-12 from the free-throw line. Burke then had a 25-point performance for No. 2-1A Rangers (15-1) in a 95-17 win over North Woods on Jan. 11.

Sara Scalia, Stillwater: Scalia and the Ponies (8-7, 4-3) have won three in a row and four of their last five. Scalia scored 30 in a 79-50 win over Mounds View on Jan. 12, just three days after she finished with 26 points in a 64-48 victory over White Bear Lake.

McKenna Hofschild, Prior Lake: For the fifth time this season, Hofschild scored more than 30 points in a game -- posting 33 against Burnsville in a 75-62 victory on Jan. 12.  

Madeline Loder, Orono: Loder had her fourth game of the season with at least 30 points in a 66-65 loss to New Prague on Jan. 9. 

Heaven Hamling, Grand Rapids: Hamling had 26 points against East Grand Forks as the No. 12-3A Thunderhawks (11-4) ran away in the second half to win 69-53 on Jan. 12. 

Aliza Karlen, St. Paul Central: Karlen had her two best scoring games of the season last week. She scored 32 points against St. Paul Harding in a 75-39 triumph on Jan. 9 and had 27 points in an 86-11 rout of St. Paul Johnson two days later.

Masengo Mutanda, Robbinsdale Armstrong: Mutanda set a new season high with 35 points in a 68-63 loss to Park Center on Jan. 9. She also had 19 points and 11 rebounds in a 60-38 victory over Osseo on Jan. 11.

Kacie Borowicz, Roseau: Borowicz hit 9 of her 18 attempts from the field in a 79-38 blowout of Kittson County Central on Jan. 8, helping keep the No. 10-2A Rams (10-4, 3-0) in consideration as a Class 2A, Section 8 contender.

Makiya Luetmer, Melrose: Luetmer scored a season-high 33 points against Osakis in a 60-51 victory on Jan. 9 that gave the Dutchmen back-to-back wins.
