The Raiders (17-8) complete an improbable semifinal field.
Senior guard Anna Skrien ran back on defense pumping her fist after hitting a three-pointer five minutes into the second half. She realized at that point that Nicollet was in control of its own destiny against the Trojans (23-7) in the battle of unranked teams.
“We are playing the best we have all year,” said Skrien, who finished with a team-high 16 points. “I have stepped up my play at the end of the year, too.”
Less than two minutes later, she was burying another three. This one gave the Raiders a 43-29 lead. Skrien finished 4-for-5 from beyond the arc.
“The last four games, she has really shot the ball well,” Nicollet coach Kevin Christenson said. “Anna is very good at picking her shots. She is very patient.”
Senior guard Katie Huttunen had a game-high 26 points for Sebeka. The Trojans were 0-for-10 from three-point range, compared with Nicollet’s 6-for-9.
