Edwards dominant in conference battle

Minneapolis Roosevelt 67, Minneapolis Southwest 62: In a Minneapolis City conference showdown, Senior Roosevelt center Kaylani Edwards led no. 2 Roosevelt with a 31-point, 12-rebound double-double to defeat no. 1 Southwest.  For Southwest, freshman guard Naja Woods had 23 points, including three three-pointers.

Mound-Westonka 59, Litchfield 58, OT: Sophomore Litchfield guard Greta Walsh hit a buzzer-beating three-pointer at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime, but after being fouled in overtime with no time remaining, Mound-Westonka junior guard Melissa Neitzke hit one of two free throws to seal the win for the White Hawks. Brooke Berger led Mound-Westonka with 24 points.

Mayer Lutheran 65, Belle Plaine 53: Sophomore guard Ashlyn Hucky and senior guard Hailey Siegle led a balanced scoring attack for Mayer Lutheran in the team’s home victory over Belle Plaine. With the win, Mayer Lutheran improved to one game out of first place behind Holy Family in the Minnesota River conference. Senior forward Kate Bigaouette led Belle Plaine with 14 points in the loss.
