Player of the Week candidates for Dec. 12-16

Lindsey Theuninck, Mankato Loyola G, Senior: Theuninck helped Mankato Loyola secure a 80-18 win over St. James, scoring 36 points. Theuninck is ranked fifth in the state with 27.8 points per game.

Alani Pettis, Minneapolis North F, Freshman: Pettis recorded 22 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists for Minneapolis North as they fell to Minneapolis South in a 77-78 loss.

Olivia Youngdahl, Minneapolis Southwest G, Sophomore: Youngdahl finished with 28 points and 11 rebounds for the Lakers en route to a 64-24 victory over Minneapolis Patrick Henry. Youngdahl leads her team in both points per game (14.1) and rebounds per game (9).

Destinee Oberg, Academy of Holy Angels F, Sophomore: Oberg had an impressive performance for No. 2-3A Academy of Holy Angels, scoring 26 points and 22 rebounds for the Stars in their 87-73 win over St. Paul Como Park. Holy Angels looks to remain undefeated this week against Benilde-St. Margaret’s.

Mary Burke, Mountain Iron-Buhl C, Junior: Burke stuffed the stat sheet for No. 1-1A Mountain Iron-Buhl scoring 30 points, nine rebounds, and six steals in the 99-29 win over Moose Lake-Willow River.

Kiley Borowicz, Roseau G, Senior: Borowicz recorded 22 points, six rebounds, and seven steals for No. 1-2A Roseau in its 71-33 victory over Northern Freeze. Roseau looks to extend winning streak this week against International Falls.

Mia Curtis, Minnehaha Academy G, Freshman: No. 4-2A Minnehaha Academy defeated St. Louis Park in a 82-69 win, with Curtis scoring 31 points for the Redhawks.

Mikayla Hayes, Park Center F, Senior: Hayes was two blocks shy of a triple-double for No. 10-4A Park Center in its 67-56 win over Maple Grove. Hayes finished with 12 points, 16 rebounds, and eight blocks.

Noelle Tomes, East Ridge G, Senior: In a showdown between No.7-4A East Ridge and No. 9-4A Edina, Tomes led the Raptors to a 58-48 victory with 22 points.

Kalli Wiebusch, St. Anthony G, Senior: Wiebusch finished with 28 points for St. Anthony in its 85-59 win over St. Louis Park. Wiebusch leads her team with 15.8 points per game.
