Player of the Week candidates for Nov. 28-Dec. 3

Candidates


Erika Bute, Alden-Conger G, sophomore: Bute recorded 25 points, 12 rebounds, two assists and three steals for Alden-Conger in a 55-39 win over Mountain Lake. Bute ranks third in the state for points per game (28.3).

Kira Mosley, Eden Prairie F, junior: Mosley had an impressive performance with 32 points and 10 rebounds in Eden Prairie's 78-73 loss to Lakeville South. Mosley and the Eagles seek their first win of the season this week against Prior Lake.

Mallory Brake, Hastings F, freshman: Brake finished with 24 points and 14 rebounds in a loss to Cretin-Derham Hall. Brake leads her team in both points per game and rebounds.

Jolene Daninger, Andover G, senior: Daninger had 31 points, 14 rebounds and four assists for Andover in a 71-57 victory over Forest Lake. The Huskies look to continue their winning streak this week against Maple Grove.

Maddie Monahan, Glencoe-Silver Lake G, senior: Monahan stuffed the stat sheet for Glencoe-Silver Lake with an impressive 20 points, five rebounds, five assists and six steals in the Panthers' 74-59 loss to St. Peter.

Betsy Schoenrock, New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva C, junior: Schoenrock finished with 22 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks against Tri-City United.

Elizabeth Schwarz, Southwest Christian F, senior: Schwarz played a large role in a 59-52 win over Christ’s Household of Faith, finishing with 26 points and 12 rebounds.

Annika Jank, Edina F, senior: Jank posted 28 points, 12 rebounds and three blocks for Edina in a 54-36 win over Burnsville. Jank and the Hornets look to remain undefeated this week against Chaska.

Monique Wooten, Minneapolis North G, junior: Wooten tallied 20 points, nine rebounds and eight steals for Minneapolis North in a 56-28 win over Minneapolis Edison.

Carmen Backes, Chisago Lakes G, junior: Backes finished with 29 points and 20 rebounds. Backes ranks second in the state for points per game (29.0).
