Star Tribune All-Metro second, third teams

Star Tribune all-metro SECOND TEAM

 

Temi Carda, Lakeville North, 5-7, jr. guard: "She's been well-known for her ability to attack the basket, but this season she has taken her game to a new level with her three-point shooting," Panthers coach Shelly Clemons said.

Courtney Fredrickson, Minnetonka, 6-2, sr. forward: The school's all-time leading scorer and rebounder "has been a standout leader in the 2016 class for years," Skippers coach Leah Dasovich said.

Rae Johnson, St. Michael-Albertville, 5-6, jr. guard: "A true gym rat," Knights coach Kent Hamre said. "She has become hard to guard because she is constantly developing her game."

Sarah Kaminski, Minnehaha Academy, 5-9, sr. guard: The Redhawks are 25-3 with Kaminski surrounded by four underclassmen in the starting five. "The best all-around player we've ever had at Minnehaha Academy," Redhawks coach Josh Thurow said.

LaShayla Wright-Ponder, Bloomington Kennedy, 6-1, sr. forward: A true power forward who loves offensive rebounding. Averaged over 25 points per game for the Eagles.

Ashley Bates, Hopkins, 5-8, sr. guard

Alaina Jarnot, Maranatha, 5-7, sr. guard

Danielle Jorgenson, Orono, 5-9, sr. guard

Sydney Tracy, St. Michael-Albertville, 6-1, sr. guard

HOW THE TEAM WAS SELECTED

The Star Tribune's All-Metro teams and Metro Player of the Year were chosen based on nominations from metro-area coaches, conversations with a panel of coaches and staff observations.


The MN Basketball Hub poll is based on opinion and for entertainment purposes only. The results will not by used to determine next season's team.
