Class 4A, Section 8 may not receive a lot of attention for its basketball prowess, but the Top Games spotlight shines brightly on two of the section's best teams this week as St. Michael-Albertville travels to Elk River.

St. Michael-Albertville is 17-2 and ranked No. 3 in Class 4A by Minnesota Basketball News thanks to a staunch defense that gives up an impressive 43.2 points per games. But the Knights have been even better during their current 11-game winning streak, holding opponents to 37.8 ppg.

Elk River, however, may have the offense to end the streak. The No. 6-4A Elks (16-2) average 70.8 points per game and scored 90 points in a victory over Anoka on Feb. 6.

A contrast in styles could be enough to make this matchup compelling, but the winner likely wraps up the top seed for the section postseason, raising the stakes and adding a sense of urgency which makes this our Top Game of the Week.
