Points likely will be abundant when Elk River travels to Minnetonka in our Top Game of the Week. Both teams feature explosive offenses that could carry each all the way to the state Class 4A tournament.

Elk River has rattled off 12 consecutive wins since losing to Rochester John Marshall 60-52 in its season opener. The Elks (12-1), ranked No. 5 by the Minnesota Basketball News, have been impressive in their last four games, outscoring opponents by an average of 28.5 points per game.

Minnetonka (14-3) is coming off back-to-back losses to No. 3-4A St. Michael-Albertville (53-51) and No. 1-4A Hopkins (70-55), but the No. 4-4A Skippers still feature an offense that averages an impressive 66 points per game.
