The forward played a big role in helping the Eastview girls’ basketball team to its first Class 4A state championship. Here is a closer look at Metoxen:

The best movie I’ve seen in the last year? “Frozen.”

Three words my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Outgoing, personable, energetic.

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are … “Adore You” by Miley Cyrus; “Best I Ever Had” by Gavin DeGraw; “Cop Car” by Keith Urban.

At my first varsity practice, I felt … scared. I was intimidated by all the older girls.

You were down by 12 points with seven minutes remaining against Bloomington Kennedy in the final, and wound up winning 64-61. What was going through your head at that point? We were just focusing on getting back in the game one possession at a time. We knew it wasn’t going to happen right away. It needed to happen little by little.

Your squad finished the championship scoring the game’s final 10 points. Talk about that a little bit? We didn’t necessarily notice our offensive run at the end of the game. We said all season that when we work hard on defense, our offense will come, and I guess you can say it held true.

Eastview has most of its core players returning next year. Talk about the possibility of repeating as a state champion and how difficult it will be? Repeating is no easy task, but with many of our girls returning we know that if we work hard this offseason it is possible to do it again.
