Quick Q&A: KELLI WICKARD, Eagan, sr., basketball

Wickard is trying to help her squad overcome a tough start to the 2013-14 season. Here is a closer look at the senior post, who also played soccer for the Wildcats:

The best movie you’ve seen in the last year? “Now You See Me.” It blew my mind.

What are your three favorite apps? Twitter; Instagram; Vine.

Who do you like to follow the most on Twitter, and why? I love following really sarcastic people because their tweets are usually hilarious.

Three words or phrases your friends or teammates might use to describe you: Energetic; positive; fun.

At my first practice, I felt ... really nervous. I was one of two sophomores who made varsity and the rest were all juniors and seniors. They were so intimidating. I was so nervous that I was going to mess something up and they would all hate me for the rest of the season.

What are your goals for the remainder of the basketball season? To beat my last year’s record of 157 rebounds during the season.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Receiving all-state honorable mention award for soccer this year, and playing in the Senior Classic game at the Metrodome.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? I am in three AP classes this year, so being in both sports and keeping up with my grades is tough. I manage to balance the two by using my time wisely and not procrastinating doing my homework each night.

In 10 years, I hope I’m … a teacher making a difference in young children’s lives.
