This is the third of the three matchups in the Tip-Off Classic that pits a Class AAAA big school against a Class AA power school.  Both teams are ranked in our top ten this year and both spent all of last season there as well. Chanhassen is led by Concordia-St. Paul signee Lauren Shifflett and has a high powered offense that likes to get up and down.  Providence Academy takes a more methodical approach to their offense and is led by seniors Taylor Finley and Leah Szabla.

Olivia Wilder vs. Leah Szabla

In a game where tempo will matter, the point guard position will be very influential. Szabla is a steady veteran and has signed with the University of North Dakota. She does a great job of controlling Providence’s methodical offense. Wilder on the other hand has recently been moved to the PG position, but has the length and quickness on defense to both Szabla.

Why Chanhassen will win:

• The Storm run whenever they get the chance, and the final score ends up where the want it, in the 70’s.
• Lauren Shifflett will do what she does best, and that’s attack the basket and live at the free throw line.

Why Providence Academy will win:

• The Lions are able to pound the ball inside and take advantage of their size in the paint.
• Their ball control slows the game down, making Chanhassen frustrated and less effective.
