Fergus Falls leaves no doubt

Otters storm past Chisago Lakes in the Class 3A quarterfinals

Wildcats senior guard Whitney Tinjum matched the Otters point-for-point for a little over three minutes. When that ended, so did Chisago Lakes’ chance at a victory.

Second-ranked Fergus Falls (29-1) held a slim 7-6 lead over Tinjum when it went on a 28-2 run. The Otters led 44-18 at halftime.

Sophomore guard Brianna Rasmusson scored 18 of her 22 points in the first half for the Otters.

Tinjum wound up with a game-high 24 points for the first-time state entrant.

Brianna Rasmusson, Fergus Falls

Rasmusson scored 24 points for the Otters, going 4-6 from byond the arc. Overall she was 9-13 from the field and she led a very impressive 36-3 Otters' run midway through the first half.

Whitney Tinjum, Chisago Lakes

Tinjum played a strong game for Chisago, netting 24 points while being the focal point on offense for the Wildcats. She was the highlight of the game for a Chisago team that struggled with the Otter's tough defense.

Sydney Schultz, Fergus Falls

The Otters point guard scored 14 points and dished out 4 assists in the blowout. She also knocked down 4 triples while playing a team-high 27 minutes.
