Hill-Murray at New Prague

The similarities are striking between these two perennial state powers. Both qualified for the state tournament last year and both are led by legendary coaches: Erin Herman at Hill-Murray and Ron Gunderson at New Prague. Both have struggled at times this year breaking in new varsity contributors. The Pioneers returned one varsity starter in Olivia Graskewicz (11.4 ppg) but a host of top bench players and Lakeville North transfer Lindsey Malecha (15.7 ppg), all of whom have added significant contributions. The Trojans also have a veteran back in Maizie Deihl (16.0 ppg) and other key players. But there are also differences in which way each team is trending. Hill-Murray is 10-6, but has won five of its last six games. New Prague is 9-5, but has lost three of its past five games.
