Lakeville North vs. Minnetonka

7 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 30

This showdown may be the marquee matchup in Class 4A for the week, as Lakeville North is ranked No. 3 and Minnetonka is No. 4.

Lakeville North is looking to make another run at a state title after narrowly missing the title game with a 57-56 defeat to eventual state champion Elk River in last year's state semifinals.

The Panthers look to play through senior Ke James, who averaged 12.1 points per game last season.

Leading Minnetonka is senior Megan Walker, who posted a team-best 17.1 ppg a season ago. The Skippers lost four seniors from last year’s team, but they return many players who clocked significant minutes in Minnetonka's run to the state quarterfinals, where it lost to Hopkins 76-57.

We’ll see if this game sparks a streak for either team, which was a commonality for both last season. The Panthers ended the regular season winning 18 consecutive games, while the Skippers boasted a nine-game run before going on a seven-game losing streak.
