Academy of Holy Angels vs. Edina
7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 14

Holy Angels’ seven-week run as the No. 1 team in Class 3A came to an end this week after a 76-64 loss to St. Croix Lutheran on Feb. 7.

The Stars (20-2, 4-0), who landed at No. 3 in the most recent rankings, then escaped with a 64-63 victory over DeLaSalle on Feb. 9 behind the play of sophomore Destinee Oberg, who finished with 25 points. Riley Thalhuber added 16 points and Megan Meyer had 11.

Oberg, who is drawing looks from several Division I schools, is averaging 16.7 points and 10.9 rebounds per game, and the post may need to turn in another big performance to help Holy Angles top Edina on Tuesday.

The Hornets boast two future Division I posts in Annika Jank (Colorado), who averages a team-high 18.1 points per game, and Bailey Helgren (Kansas). Jank had 16 points and Macy Nilsen had 18 in a 73-52 loss to No. 1-4A Hopkins on Feb. 10.
