Centennial vs. Champlin Park
7 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 9

Champlin Park will try to move into a tie for second place in its division of the Northwest Suburban Conference against Centennial but getting anything from the defensively stingy Cougars is tough for any opponent.

The No. 15-4A Rebels (15-5, 10-3) didn’t fare well in the first meeting between the teams, a 64-37 loss on Dec. 13, but come into this meeting with a three-game winning streak that includes a 50-40 win on Feb. 3 over No. 19-4A Andover. Erica Hicks had 13 points while Allison Gerads and Amanda Pollard finished with 11 each.

Scoring against No. 6-4A Centennial (17-3, 11-2) has proven difficult for any team. The Cougars allow a league-low 46.5 points per game.

Centennial is riding a six-game winning streak where it has held three opponents to 34 or fewer points. Sara Stapleton led the Cougars with 16 points on Feb. 3 in a 54-34 win over Maple Grove and Taylor McAulay added 14.
