Wayzata knocked off No. 9-4A St. Michael-Albertville 62-56 on Jan. 17, No. 12-4A Park Center 49-39 on Jan. 19 and No. 10-4A Minnetonka 68-59 on Jan. 27 to bring a three-game winning streak into the week.

The No. 11-4A Trojans (13-4, 2-2) return to league play on Tuesday against Edina, which won the first meeting 49-37 on Dec. 9.

Wayzata will look to utilize the depth it displayed in the victory over Minnetonka, as Jasmine Smiley finished with a team-high 15 points while Camryn Hay and Mimi Schrader each added 14 and Kallie Theisen had 13.

The No. 14-4A Hornets (14-5, 2-2) have won four of their last five and can break the three-team log jam for second place in the Lake Conference standings with a win against the Trojans.

Edina’s Annika Jank (18.9 ppg) and Bailey Helgren were nominated for the McDonald’s All American team and both are will play at Division I schools next year. Jank, a Colorado recruit, and Helgren, who is headed to Kansas, each had 11 points in a 57-47 win over Woodbury on Jan. 24.
