Wayzata vs. Minnetonka

Watch out for No. 13-4A Wayzata. The Trojans knocked off No. 10-4A St. Michael-Albertville on Jan. 17 and No. 9-4A Park Center on Jan. 19. Led by sophomore Kallie Theisen (15.2 ppg), Wayzata (12-4, 1-2) took a leap forward in those wins. Now the Trojans will try to do the same against Lake Conference foe Minnetonka.

Theisen had 24 points on 10 of 15 shooting, along with 11 rebounds in a 62-56 victory over the Knights. She followed that up with 15 points in a 49-39 win over the Pirates, and Mimi Schrader stepped in to provide 16 points.

The Skippers (10-4, 2-1) have continued to pile up the wins while maturing on the court. Minnetonka extended its win streak to nine games on Jan. 21 with a 69-60 victory over Moorhead.

Against Moorhead, Minnetonka junior Kayla Mershon finished with 19 points while junior Megan Walker added 14. Sophomore Blake Greer and eighth-grader Sophie Haydon contributed with 13 and 10 points, respectively.
