Watertown-Mayer vs. New London-Spicer
7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 19

Watertown-Mayer’s nine-game win streak came to a crashing halt Jan. 14 with a 67-62 loss to Eden Valley-Watkins, but the Royals won’t have much time to dwell on it with a pivotal tilt looming against Wright County Conference rival New London-Spicer.

Claire Killian (18.1 points per game), Monika Czinano (13.2 ppg) and Kirstin Klitzke (13.1 ppg) will try and get No. 5-2A Watertown-Mayer (12-2, 4-0) back in the winning column.

The No. 6-2A Wildcats (10-1, 3-0) can leapfrog the Royals in the Wright County West Division standings and become the one of the hottest teams in Class 2A with a win. New London-Spicer has rattled off five straight victories since a 48-45 loss to No. 2-2A Sauk Centre on Dec. 20.

Brooke Beuning had 23 points and Shea Oman added 13 for the Wildcats in a 75-53 win over then-No. 2-2A Minnehaha Academy on Dec. 30.
