Cretin-Derham Hall vs. Forest Lake
7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 10

Cretin-Derham Hall bounced back from its first defeat of the season, a 63-52 loss to Hill-Murray on Dec. 20, with two victories, including a 76-52 victory against Mounds View on Jan. 3, last week to remain undefeated in the Suburban East Conference.

The No.9-4A Raiders got 24 points from Autam Mendez and 13 points from Frannie Hottinger in a 62-49 win over Stillwater on Jan. 6.

Mendez and Hottinger and Elizabeth Edinger (11.8 ppg) each average more than 11 ppg for Cretin-Derham Hall (8-1, 4-0).

Forest Lake’s hot start seems to be cooling after losing conference games to No. 6-4A East Ridge (57-48) and White Bear Lake (71-60) the first week of January.

Abigail Groeneweg scored 19 points and Kenzie Stumne added 18 for the Rangers, an eight-win team a year ago, in the loss to the Bears. The duo will shoulder the majority of the offensive responsibility against the Raiders and the rest of the way.

The Rangers (7-4, 2-3) face an uphill battle to finish the season in the top half of the conference standings, but Forest Lake has enough talent to make the climb, one that must start with a win on Tuesday.
