Kasson-Mantorville vs. Orono
5 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 14

Last Friday saw a premier matchup between two of the state's top post players, with Kasson-Mantorville's Kristin Scott outdueling Bryon's Ayoka Lee in a 61-57 KoMets' win -- their seventh straight over the Bears.

Scott, an Iowa State recruit, finished with 22 points and 20 rebounds and got some help from Peyton Suess, who scored 12 points and pulled down 10 rebounds for No. 3-3A Kasson-Mantorville (7-3, 3-0), which begins a stretch of four consecutive road games Monday at Kenyon-Wanamingo.

The gauntlet ends Saturday at Orono (9-3, 1-0), which snapped a three-game skid with an 86-76 win over No. 9-3A Hutchinson on Jan. 6. Madeline Loder finished with 35 points and Tori Andrew had 28 points and 10 rebounds to lead the No. 5-3A Spartans. Jordan Case added 11 points in the win, and Orono will need a similar offensive output to help it defeat the KoMets.
