Centennial had its season-opening nine-game winning streak snapped on Dec. 30 with an 81-67 loss to Apple Valley at the Roseville Holiday Tournament. It was a 10-point game with three minutes remaining before the No. 5-4A Eagles pulled away to win.

Sara Stapleton led the way for No. 3-4A Centennial (9-1, 4-0) with 18 points, Sydney Stapleton and Taylor McAulay each finished with 17 in the loss.

The Cougars will try to remain atop the Northwest Suburban Conference against an Andover (6-3, 3-1) team that's ready to put the Roseville Holiday Tournament behind it.

The Huskies went 1-2 at the event, winning their opener against Robbinsdale Cooper 66-58 before falling 60-53 to Apple Valley and 52-48 to Woodbury. DePaul commit Jolene Daninger, who is averaging 19.7 point per game, had 17 in loss to the Royals.
