East Ridge vs. Forest Lake
7:15 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 3

East Ridge saw its five-game win streak snapped with a 72-56 loss to No. 5-4A Apple Valley on Dec. 22, a game in which post Mariah Sexe (18.5 ppg) didn’t play for the No. 6-4A Raptors (6-2, 1-0).

Noelle Tomes finished with 21 points and Kelen Kenol added 13 points and 10 rebounds for East Ridge in the defeat.

Forest Lake, which won a total of seven games last season, punctuated a six-game winning streak with a 56-48 win over No. 1-3A Holy Angels at the Hill-Murray Tournament on Dec. 28. The Rangers (7-2, 2-0) curiously followed that up with a 46-45 loss to Park of Cottage Grove but capped the tournament with a 74-60 victory over Wayzata last Friday.

It remains to be seen which version of Forest Lake will show up Tuesday in the matchup with Suburban East Conference foe East Ridge. To win the game, the Rangers will need balance on offense -- a formula they have followed for success this season -- including agains the Trojans, as Tia Moscatelli and Kenzie Stumne each finished with a team-high 14 points while Lexie Hultman and Abigail Groeneweg added 13 and 11, respectively.
