Edina vs. Hopkins
7 p.m., Friday, Dec. 16

Hopkins has appeared unstoppable through its first seven games, blowing out every opponent. The No. 1-1A Royals' (7-0, 1-0) narrowest margin of victory was a 19-point victory at New Prague, their third game last week.

Freshman Paige Bueckers is averaging 23 points a game and leads leads the state in total points (161). Junior Reana Suggs averages 16 points per game while sophomore Dlayla Chakolis is at nearly 12.

Edina looks to be the leading challenger to the Royals in the Lake Conference after recording a 49-37 victory over league rival No. 6-4A Wayzata on Dec. 9.

With Colorado commit Annika Jank (21.5 points and 12 rebounds per game) and Kansas commit Bailey Helgren (5.7 ppg), the No. 7-4A Hornets (4-0) pose a threat to every team.

Hopkins swept the regular-season series with Edina a year ago, winning each by more than 20 points.
