Roseville vs. Blaine
3 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 3

The game between Roseville and Blaine features two teams looking to avoid a repeat of last season's short postseason runs.

Blaine began this year with a 63-21 rout of Duluth East behind a team-high 23 points from Makenna Pearson.

The senior will be counted on to continue leading a Bengals team that finished 15-12 and ended its season when Coon Rapids recorded a 49-47 first-round upset in the Class 4A, Section 7 playoffs a year ago.

Roseville's season was cut short after a 50-47 loss to Champlin Park in the Class 4A, Section 5 playoffs. The loss snapped a 10-game winning streak for the Raiders, who finished 21-7 overall.

Kaia Porter (14.8 points per game) and Jolisa Ross (9.2 ppg) are back for Roseville, which opens the season this week hosting Irondale and Chanhassen, and they hope to be riding a two-game winning streak into Saturday's road matchup.
