Annandale travels to Watertown-Mayer on Friday for a Wright County Conference West Division showdown that also has postseason implications.

The No. 10-2A Cardinals' lone loss this season came at home to the No. 5-2A Royals on Jan. 5, but Annandale (16-1, 7-1) has closed out January with seven straight wins thanks to freshman Hannah Purcell, who averages 12.7 ppg.

Claire Killian leads Watertown-Mayer (14-3, 7-0) with 20.2 ppg, and the junior scored a season-high 29 points against Annandale in the Royals' 75-48 win.

The teams could meet for a third time in the Class 2A, Section 5 tournament.
