White Bear Lake vs. Shakopee
Minnesota Fury MLK Day Classic at St. Catherine University
1:20 p.m., Monday, Jan. 18

White Bear Lake is an odd team when looking at its stats.

Senior Alison Hinck, a Minnesota-Duluth commit, leads the team in scoring, averaging just 10.9 ppg, but the No. 9-4A Bears (10-4, 6-0) have nine regular players who average between 3.8-7.7 ppg.

The team's four losses have come to teams currently sitting in the top 5 of the Class 4A rankings. With defeats to No. 4-4A Eastview and No. 1-4A Hopkins and two losses to No. 5-4A Lakeville North, a trip to No. 2-4A Shakopee doesn't bode well for White Bear Lake.

The Sabers (12-0, 6-0) have yet to lose thanks to senior star and North Carolina commit Taylor Koenen, who averages 19.2 ppg. Perhaps an even bigger reason for Shakopee's success comes on the defensive end, though, as the Sabers give up just 39.7 ppg.
