Minneapolis South at Minneapolis Southwest
7 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 14

After finishing second and third in the Minneapolis City Conference last season, Minneapolis Southwest and Minneapolis South sit in first and second, respectively, near the midway point this year.

The Lakers (9-1, 5-0) are off to a quick start behind 13.8 ppg from senior Keyia Parker, who also averages 4.1 steals per game and had a season-high 10 at North St. Paul on Dec. 1.

Morgan Hill averages 19.7 ppg for the Tigers (6-6, 4-0), who have faced a tough nonconference schedule that included No. 1-4A Hopkins, No. 1-3A Orono and a very talented Osseo team.

The schools split last season's meetings, with South winning the first game 89-82 and Southwest taking the second 61-60 on the road.
