Edina at Eden Prairie
7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 27

Edina and Eden Prairie hope that three is a magic number.

The Hornets and Eagles are not only competing to end the regular season in third place in the Lake Conference but also lock up the third seed in the Class 4A, Section 6 playoffs.

Edina may hold a slight edge in section seeding, but Eden Prairie could erase the advantage with a victory.

Six of the Hornets' seven losses have been to teams ranked in Class 4A, with two defeats to both No. 1 Hopkins and No. 4 Minnetonka. Edina also lost to No. 8 Chanhassen and No. 9 Shakopee.

The Hornets have relied on sophomore forward Annika Jank (15.5 ppg) and senior guard Jill Morton (15.2 ppg) for points all season. The pair combined for 24 points in Edina's 42-30 victory over Eden Prairie on Jan. 23.

If the Eagles (15-9) want to surpass the 30-point mark in this matchup, they’ll need bigger games from leading scorers Emma Boehm (15.8 ppg, 5 rpg), a senior forward, and Esabelle Levine (12.2 ppg), a junior guard. They finished with a combined 12 points in the loss.
