Shakopee at Eagan
7 p.m., Friday, Feb 27

Shakopee has been trending upward as the regular season winds down. The Sabers nearly had their fifth consecutive win as they came close to knocking off No. 2-4A Eastview in a 57-54 loss on Feb. 20.

Shakopee looks to carry that momentum into its final two South Suburban Conference contents, including a game with Eagan. The Sabers could vault into second place in the standings with a victory over the Wildcats.

Junior guard and North Carolina commit Taylor Koenen (20.2 ppg, 6.4 rpg) leads the No. 9-4A Sabers (17-7, 11-5), while junior forward Caleigh Rodning (11.5 ppg) and senior forward Haley Zerr (10.1 ppg) are also viable scoring options.

Eagan (17-7, 12-4) defeated Shakopee 67-57 on Jan. 27 behind Dani Bischoff’s game-high 23 points. The senior forward leads the Wildcats in scoring at 20 ppg. Junior guard Tamira McLemore (13.4 ppg) gives Eagan a scorer in the backcourt.
