This is more than a matchup of two highly ranked Class 2A teams. The game features the top two squads in the Three Rivers Conference, teams that also happen to be battling for high seeds in their respective Section 1 subsections.

No. 1 Dover-Eyota (22-1, 17-0) enters the week atop the league standings and with an 11-0 record against section opponents, while No. 6 Plainview-Elgin-Millville (18-4, 13-2) is second in the conference and trails the Eagles by three games. The Bulldogs have a 10-2 mark against section competition, including a 71-48 loss to Dover-Eyota on Jan. 27.

Eagles' star Brandi Blattner stole the show in the teams' previous meeting. The senior guard led all players with 24 points and 10 rebounds. Junior guard Madison Nelson added 19 points and junior center Megan Hintz had 10 in the victory.

Sophomore forward Morgan Shindelar and junior guard Sarah Hart each scored 10 points for Plainview-Elgin-Millville.
