Shakopee at Eastview
6 p.m., Friday, Feb. 20

Eastview has nearly locked up the South Suburban Conference title with a perfect 14-0 league record. A victory over Lakeville South on Feb. 17 and a victory over Shakopee on Feb. 20 would secure the crown for the Lightning.

Guard Madison Guebert (20 ppg) and forward Samantha Trammel (14.1 ppg, 6.9 rebounds per game) are a duo of talented seniors pacing No. 2-4A Eastview (21-1) on offense. Sophomore guard Rachel Ranke (12.8 ppg) gives the Lightning a viable third scoring option.

The Lightning are the only team in the state to have beaten No. 1-4A Hopkins this season.

No. 10-4A Shakopee (16-6, 10-4) has made regular entrances and exits in the Class 4A top-10 rankings this season but would like to make this top-10 stay permanent. The Sabers, who enter the week four games back in the standings, can also gain ground on Eastview with a victory.

Junior guard and North Carolina-commit Taylor Koenen (20.4 ppg, 6.6 rpg) can do it all for Shakopee but gets some help from junior forward Caleigh Rodning (11.3 ppg) and senior forward Haley Zerr (10 ppg).

In the first meeting this season, Guebert scored a game-high 25 points and Trammel added 21 in a 65-45 win for the Lightning on Jan. 20. Koenen finished with 20 points and Rodning had 13 in the loss.
