Waconia at Hutchinson
7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13

Waconia just entered into the rankings, coming in at No. 9 thanks to the Wildcats performance in one of the state's toughest leagues.

Waconia is 3-2 in the Wright County East Division, including an 84-76 victory at No. 8-3A Delano on Jan. 30. The Wildcats (11-8) also have a high-scoring offense and have topped 100 points in two games this season: a 113-36 win over Blake on Dec. 2 and a 110-101 loss to No. 9-4A Chanhassen on Dec. 4.

Senior guard Anna Schmitt (26.7 ppg in 14 games) has been the catalyst for the offense, while senior guard Kendall Eder (12.3 ppg) and junior guard Madelin Dammann (11.1 ppg) give Waconia extra scoring punch.

Hutchinson (12-6, 1-4) fell out of the Class 3A rankings after back-to-back losses to No. 1-3A Orono (81-48 on Jan. 30) and Delano (54-45 on Feb. 6). But a victory over the Wildcats could help the Tigers climb back in.

Junior forward Erin Corrigan (14.6 ppg, 6.4 rpg) and sophomore guard Tori Wortz (12.9 ppg) lead Hutchinson in scoring and to could be to keeping the Tigers in the hunt for one of the top two seeds in Section 2.
