Benilde-St. Margaret's at Chanhassen
7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13

The No. 1 and No. 2 teams in the Metro West Conference square off when Chanhassen host Benilde-St. Margaret's on Feb. 13. But first place won't be on the line in this matchup.

The Storm sit atop the standings with an 8-0 record, while the Red Knights are tied with Bloomington Jefferson for second place with a 5-3 mark.

Chanhassen (15-5) seems to be hitting its stride heading down the home stretch of the regular season. The Storm used a 10-game winning streak to climb to No. 9 in the Class 4A rankings, and Chanhassen's last defeat was on Dec. 30 in a 57-38 loss to No. 8-4A Rochester John Marshall.

Senior guards Martha Kuderer (16.7 ppg) and Danielle Gitzen (16.3 ppg) have been at the forefront of the Storm’s success.

Benilde-St. Margaret’s (13-7) is led by senior forwards Azzairia Jackson-Sherrod (14.9 ppg) and Sidney Liebl (11.7 ppg). Senior guard Gretchen Sattler (11.8 ppg) gives the Red Knights a balance scoring attack.

Benilde-St. Margaret's won three of its last four games, including a 64-48 victory over Bloomington Jefferson on Feb. 6. Jackson-Sherrod and Sattler finished with 15 points apiece in the win.
