New Prague at Delano
7 p.m., Friday, Feb. 13

Delano trails league leader Orono by three games in the Wright County Conference East Division standings, but the Tigers are only two games behind New Prague for second place.

A victory over the Trojans in this matchup could give Delano momentum heading into a conference clash with Orono on Feb. 20.

The No. 8-3A Tigers (13-6, 2-3) have benefitted from superior play at the forward position as seniors Alex Wittinger (16.1 ppg) and Bria Barfnecht (13.5 ppg) lead the offense.

Senior guard Brooke Lemke (13.1 ppg) holds down the backcourt for the Tigers, who have lost three of their six games to Class 3A ranked teams in No. 3 New Prague (61-58), No. 1 Orono (61-58) and No. 9 Waconia (84-76). Those three teams also are division rivals.

New Prague (16-3, 4-1) defeated Delano 61-58 on Jan. 16, led by senior center Maddie Giesen’s 16 points.

Sophomore guard Maizie Deihl (17.6 ppg) and sophomore forward Taylor Hustad (12.1 ppg) lead the Trojans in scoring.

Orono ended New Prague's undefeated conference season and snapped the Trojans' 12-game winning streak with a 69-64 victory on Feb. 6.
