Park Center at Hopkins
7 p.m., Monday, Feb. 9

Park Center is familiar facing Class 4A teams. The Class 3A Pirates play in the Northwest Suburban Conference, where all but two teams are in the larger class.

But it's safe to say Park Center has not faced a Class 4A team like Hopkins this season.

The No. 1-4A Royals (19-1) have won every game by 10 points or more this season, including a 74-43 victory at Maple Grove on Feb. 6.

Hopkins is riding a 15-game winning streak, led by their heralded group of guards in juniors Nia Hollie (14.3 ppg), Ashley Bates (14.2 ppg) and senior T.T. Starks (12.8 ppg).

No. 4-3A Park Center (14-6) is no stranger to close games as five of the its six losses have been by 10 points or less.

The Pirates have had four players score 20 or more points in a single game this season, and that offensive balance could be key to defeating the Royals.

Sophomore forward Mikayla Hayes (14.9 ppg) leads Park Center in scoring, while senior guard Hannah Schaub (11.3 ppg, 4.0 assists per game) is the Pirates' floor general. Sophomore guards Ann Simonet (10.9 ppg) and Danielle Schaub (10.7 ppg) are viable scoring options.

Park Center ended a three-game skid with a 62-56 win over Robbinsdale Armstrong on Feb. 6.
