Eagan at Apple Valley
7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 3

There is a cluster of teams vying for the No. 2 seed behind Eastview in Class 4A, Section 3, and Eagan seems to have the advantage in securing the spot. The Wildcats (13-5) have five victories over section opponents, including a 58-51 defeat of Cretin-Derham Hall on Jan. 31. Eagan's only loss to a section foe was to the Lightning (75-42 on Jan. 23).

The Wildcats' success is due in large part to the play of senior forward Dani Bischoff (20.7 ppg) and junior guard Tamira McLemore (12.8 ppg).

Three of Apple Valley’s eight losses are to currently ranked Class 4A teams: No. 1 Hopkins, No. 6 Roseville and No. 2 Eastview. The Eagles also lost to Shakopee, which was ranked earlier this season.

Apple Valley (10-8) is armed with three underclassmen who can consistently score. Sophomore guard Lyndsey Robson (15.5 ppg), sophomore forward Sara Teske (15.4 ppg), and freshman center Marie Olson (10.3 pg) lead the Eagles’ attack.
