Orono at New Prague

No. 1-3A Orono (18-1, 4-0) has won all but three games by 14 points or more. Those three games include victories over DeLaSalle (55-52) and Delano (61-58) and a loss at No. 4-4A Minnetonka (61-55).

Orono showed its superiority in an 81-48 victory at Wright County Conference East Division rival No. 7-3A Hutchinson, a victory that likely locked up the No. 1 seed in the Section 5 playoffs and also helped the Spartans keep pace with New Prague atop the division standings.

Orono has had eight players scored in double digits at least once this season, led by a triumvirate of guards in senior Kiera Nelson (13.6 ppg), sophomore Tori Andrew (13.5 ppg) and junior Danielle Jorgensen (10.8 ppg). Junior center Meghan Mandel (10.8 ppg) is Orono's presence in the a paint. 

New Prague is on an 11-game winning streak dating back to Dec. 11, when the it lost to No. 1-4A Hopkins 77-57. The Trojans (15-2, 4-0) also have victories over No. 10-3A Delano, No. 8-3A Kasson-Mantorville and Hutchinson. 

Sophomore guard Maizie Deihl (17.5 ppg) and sophomore forward Taylor Hustad (11.4 ppg) pace No. 4-3A New Prague's offense. 

The winner of this game takes sole possession of first place in the division standings.
